"While performing a building check on Sunday morning February 4, 2007 a custodian discovered a ruptured coil on an air handling unit. Dillett Mechanical was called and responded immediately having a mechanic on site within an hour. Working in cooperation with the district staff, the heating system was brought back online promptly.
We began to walk the building looking for any additional cold coils and found some unit vent coils cold on the second floor. Additional mechanics were called in to establish flow through the frozen systems.
Throughout the day as repairs were being made to the system other coils began to thaw out and rupture. Working closely with Matt Karshna the original heating system was evaluated and a decision was made to abandon the original system and properly install new heating mains overhead with temporary heating units in fourteen classrooms.
With a solid plan in place Dillett Mechanical mobilized quickly and work began immediately. The end result was over two thousand feet of pipe installed and working in just over 48 hours. Heat was restored to the second floor with no disruption to the school schedule.
